Correspondence Between
Alexandra Munroe and John Braseth
Dear John,
Thank you for making our brief research trip to Seattle such a fabulous success. We so enjoyed our tours of
the Hatch and True collections, and seeing the treasures in your own gallery.
Your keen eye guided us well, and we feel much more confident now in our selection of work by the great masters of the Northwest School.
I am glad that I never met Graves.... I would have fallen madly in love and been wrecked, to be sure.
I look forward to your visit to New York, and a trip to East Hampton to visit Jack Lenor Larsen. Come when the gardens are high.
We shall be in touch soon, and thank you so very much for your passion and generosity.
All best,
Alexandra Munroe, Senior Curator of Asian Art of the Guggenheim Museum
